Its that time of year again! A chance to get together and spend some time thinking back on the year, share stories, relax and enjoy good treats.

UnLondon, and the This Week in London Tweets (TWiLT) podcast invite you to attend a casually holiday event at the UnLab on Sunday December 18th from 4 to 8 pm.

Drinks and snacks will be provided but we’d also encourage you to bring a treat to share with everyone. We’ll have a “potluck of desserts”!

The TWiLT hosts will be holding a live podcast recording during the event.

The City of London, in partnership with UnLondon is holding a Open Data contest and we want you there to help us kick it off!

Using data from City of London budgets build an app (website, infographic, visualization or mobile app) that makes it easier for the public to know what’s going on at City Hall during the 2012 budget process.

On Thursday, November 10th come join us at the APK Live for a “Silicon Valley” inspired night of food and entertainment. We’ve got some awesome DJs lined up, and enough food and drinks to keep you coding all weekend!

Some friends of ours over at Big Blue Bubble will be making a crowd-sourced game onsite at DIG 2011.  Folks can submit their ideas and BBB will build a game!  And, the game will belong to the individual who submitted the idea! More info below and on the DIG site.

Hardware has been confirmed, Liquid Nitrogen has been ordered, and the UnLab is ready to host it’s first overclocking party!

Join us on Thursday January 27, 2011 from 6PM until the cold stuff is gone for an overclocking demonstration using the latest computer hardware from Intel and ASUS.

Resident UnLab overclocker Jody ‘3oh6‘ Bailey will be in house overclocking Intel’s latest and greatest processors using Liquid Nitrogen. Jody is one of Canada’s best overclockers, and has been ranked in the top 10 in the world on HWBot.org, the unofficial ranking system for overclockers worldwide. Jody will be overclocking the latest Intel 2600K & 980X flagship processors, ASUS Maximus IV Extreme & Rampage III Extreme motherboards, an ASUS GTX580, and Corsair Dominator GTX2 memory.

There is a little bit of geek in all of us, and what is more geeky than overclocking a computer with liquid nitrogen? Jody will be answering any and all questions related to overclocking while benchmarking some of the latest hardware on the market; as well, everyone will get a chance to pour some LN2.

There will be snacks, drinks, contests, Beer Infuser demonstrations, and a host of other things to do and see. Prizes and swag have been arranged from Canada’s premier hardware review and news siteHardware Canucks.com including a motherboard from Gigabyte, an 8GB kit of memory from Corsair, and an ASUS video card. So come out, learn a little bit about the world of extreme overclocking, have some fun, and take home some great prizes!
